Senior Project Coordinator
Dawn Porter is a Senior Project Coordinator for the National Center. In this role, she provides comprehensive support to suicide mortality review committees, enhancing their effectiveness and impact. She has a decade of expertise in collaborating with communities and partners to prevent child injury and mortality, including suicide. Prior to joining the National Center, Dr. Porter was the Program Coordinator and then Manager of the Arkansas CDR Program. She guided local teams in enhancing data quality for the state of Arkansas and executing recommendations derived from the data. She holds a doctorate degree in leadership studies from the University of Central Arkansas, with a research focus on the perspectives of educational leaders in supporting students’ psychological well-being. She is also a co-author of a book chapter on community partnerships for injury prevention. Additionally, Dr. Porter brings valuable experience in working with military families and agencies, drawing from her personal connections as the wife and daughter of veterans.
