Pediatric trauma outcomes are shaped in the critical minutes following a 911 call, making this early window one of the most powerful, yet often underused, opportunities for prevention. This webinar will explore how fatality review teams can use 911 and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) data, including time-to-dispatch, pre-arrival instructions, and 911 center protocol capabilities, to identify opportunities for system improvement and fatality prevention.

We will also highlight how interventions like prehospital blood transfusion can save lives, and how coordination with State EMS Offices and Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinators can support meaningful, system-level changes. Finally, we will demonstrate how to document key 911 and EMS data elements, system observations, and prevention-focused recommendations within the Pediatric National Fatality Review‑Case Reporting System.
